Boycott
I refuse to buy another game with these new policy changes, what about you?

I need to get through more of my backlog before I consider new games to add... to my backlog.
If my existing games disappear I'll of course be disappointed. Fortunately none are NSFW but I'm sure they will find a reason.

Given that, so far the amount of games affected are minimal and, while I don't agree with the censorship, it is not something new and is specifically targetted at the same subset it always has been. I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face

If you think boycott's work, I invite you to look up the MW2 boycott and see how well that turned out. So many groups were formed and so many swore they'd never play the game. Come release day, everyone in those groups was playing the game.

With this mindset you shouldnt be surprised when the things you like will be affected at some point and there will be no one left to defend them. you have to draw the line somewhere
Since I wasn't interested in depictions of incest or non-consensual intercourse to begin with (the kind of stuff affected by this policy), nothing will change about my purchase behavior.

I am not about to draw the line at incest and rape games. I am not going to proverbially die on that hill.

Agreed. It's not going to affect the vast majority of users here anyway.

It doesnt matter what they block specifically but this behaviour is inexcusable and should never be tolerated. this apathetic mindset everyone seems to have really is extremely sad

No, what's extremely sad is when users don't remember history. Do you know who Jack Thompson is? He swore he'd remove every violent video game from store shelves. Do me a favor real quick and take a look at the store and see if you see any of those still there.
Why would you boycott Steam? They're being strong-armed into this. If you want to boycott the responsible parties, shred your credit cards instead.
I care a lot more about being able to use my visa and master card on Steam than having incest and rape games sold here.

I don’t think you understand how important visa and master card when it comes to keeping Valve in business. Or how little Valve means to visa and master card.

Indeed. Cut up your cards, OP.

Go.

I dont have a credit card for this reason
For the record, Visa/MC also do debit cards which have, in most places, completely replaced eftpos cards and Paypal is obviously paypal

Not just credit cards would be effected, but debit cards too.
