Continuing to use Steam (including the forums) means you are still happy with the policies and you still agree to them. Someone who isn't would stop using the service.
You played quite a bit of Dead by Daylight - are you into torture and murder?
This conflation of fiction with reality is ridiculous. We're all the way back in the "video games cause violence" stupidity of the 90s.
But it's even worse because nowadays even the young people seem to have been brainwashed into believing this crap, despite all scientific study pointing to the contrary.
Anyway sorry OP but I kind of have to side with support on this one. This is a forum and public relations issue. Take it to twitter and forums, support can't do anything here. I suspect support literally just wrote "this is the new policy and we will not be changing anything. As we cannot help I am locking the ticket," as they usually do. It's unacceptable the way they talk to us but, for once, they actually can't do much more than apologize
Its completely delusional to suggest that these are the same thing. If you have to grasp at straws like this it just shows everyone that Steam and Visa/Mastercard made the right choice.
The actual ones behind it all.
In fact, going into that particular example, that are studies to show that indulging in rape fantasies in a safe environment (like consuming a piece of media you consented to, by yourself - or, not relevant to this conversation, roleplaying with a consensual partner) is perfectly harmless.
It's a very a common sexual fantasy (check out any fanfiction site or erotica book store), and for many people it's even a part of healing from actual, real-life sexual trauma.
But sure, I'll take your opinion over the opinion of multiple psychologists. I'm sure you know more than them, why do I bother paying them.
Send your complaints to the right place. Visa and master card.
It’s either they do this or stop accepting payments from over 90% of credit and debit cards in the world. I should not have to spell out what that would mean for Valve.
Get the ball going with a hundred fake outraged people demanding that VISA and MasterCard stop doing business with Valve as long as they sell a game that lets you play as a group of Terrorists planting bombs and killing counter-terrorists.
I'm eager to see if Valve will respond the same way, in that case.
Use THEIR methods AGAINST THEM.
Goes with any company or brand, mind.
