Valve have banned quite a few non-porn games already. The first was several years ago. So even if they do no ban such a game due to a payment provider's demands, it's not the first time such a game has been banned from the platform.

Whilst I'm not a fan of the vague wording of this new rule regarding payment processors, I do not believe they will push this issue too far. It would take a chunk out of their own pocket and successfully kill or severely cripple an entire entertainment industry.

Capturing monsters involves heavily brutalising them, inflicting pain, cutting off parts. Whether or not they're re-released into the wild they are held, experimented on and harvested for parts.
This is animal cruelty as well as poaching, which are serious crimes.

it gets a pass because peta or whatever dont have enough economic or political pressure to force the hand of governments or payment processors, otherwise this kind of content would be on the chopping block as well

Where was the outrage when multiple countries banned extremely violent or pornographic games?

Nobody cared because "doesn't affect me" and now all the sudden it might affect you and it's a giant problem.

You didn't care back then because you weren't affected. Why should people not affected be on your side now when nobody was on theirs?
