Yes We CAN!
It is time for custom gift card options tied to all game purchases as an in-between. Like, you click to buy a game, it will give the option to set up a gift card for the exact amount required for the full purchase (including tax and processing cost or whatever). Then from there it proceeds to you buying the game via account balance. Completely cutting out these authoritarians. Then mastercard, visa, etc. can either choose to make money or get bent. Quick, easy, and won't screw over the consumer like their current compliance does.

Ngl I am tempted to drop this platform as far as future purchases are concerned. And I see quite a few people consider the same. This is nothing short of a dystopian move by payment providers. And it must not... can not... will not stand. It is time to pick a side steam. Are you going to help ban these games by purging them from your platform or are you going to do the right thing?

Custom gift cars are a great idea or an easier way to transfer funds to a custom Steam payment system.

Yeah I took notes from mafia money laundering, but simpler. Two easy steps to evade the 'authorities' and spend our money as we please, and for steam to continue to receive our money as we please.

OP, there are no valve or steam employees reading threads or posts in this steam sub-forum. They do not have access as this is a User to User sub-forum.
Guess who processes wallet transactions.

Doesn't steam already have the money at that point because we spent money to buy the gift card? From there they literally just need to subtract the balance and give us the game. Maybe time to rework gift cards too to accomodate this then if not.

Adding a gift card purchase in between does not fix anything. The issue visa and Mastercard have is those types of games are sold on the platform.

So in short if Valve wants to continue accepting the two biggest forms of payment for anything on the website they have to remove the games.

If that ends up being the case then yeah that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Then it's time for their own payment processor and blocking these other ones that are trying to throw a wrench in their business. Then visa, mastercard, etc. can choose to do business or miss out. Whichever way is the way forward it is not the one that involves listening to these companies and the radicals pushing them to do this.

That would be loosing billions in sales. Valve needs visa and Mastercard to survive.

Visa and Mastercard do not care about or need Valve.

It's about time these payment processors and activists get taken down a peg.

I want valve to make a payment processor but the thing is that mastercard and visa own like 96% of the worlds transactions or are someway in it.
Since literally all the world governments, banks, and large businesses use them.
There is no way for them to break out as a payment processor.
But I wonder why literally every government uses them.... Wouldn't have any associations with anything... would it fellas?
