and this is why mastercard wins every time. this is why they decide what can be on the internet and what can be bought and sold, even though they are not elected, they are not a government.
Steam has a monopoly on the game market. Many games are not available elsewhere. Third party stores will usually not even inform you that they are selling Steam keys.
The way to go is by reducing the usage of Steam or by buying 'anything' through services that are not Mastercard, Visa, PayPal and the like. Simply buy a Steam Gift card if you're paranoid.
You need to make PayPal and these creditcard providers less powerful by not using them and considering unlisting yourself from their userbase. There are alternatives to transactions, such as Gnu Taler.
Teach valve that it costs more to keep these people as partners around, than it is to abandon them and keep games around that they, through some group of activists, don't want to deal with, fearing legislation or whatever.
