So, any bets which games get banned next?
Since Visa established dominance, what do you think will be targeted next?

-My guess is on "Furries", since other sites were already forced to remove such content. Good bye Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and anything having anthro animals.

Or since Vanguard and Blackrock are involved: Anything that doesn't reach a high enough DEI score given their involvement in the industry in that regard.
Maybe a conspiracy theory, but what if they use Visa as lever to gain the upper hand for games and studios they invested in?

Spyro and Crash are perfectly safe.

:nkCool:
I'm actually betting we don't see much more happen.

There are only a few select types of content that is in question.

Most will notice nothing, we will enjoy our games, and this matter will be a non issue in two weeks time.

Considering the movement behind it is an Australian far-left feminists group, I would imagine they have GTA firmly in their sights, I am not sure how successful they will be though.

Valve just refused to put in the work to keep selling them. Maybe they didn't want to demonstrate that they could do age verification. Maybe the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze to keep selling them. The problem is in a lot of jurisdictions just as with tobacco and alcohol. You have to be of a certain age to purchase pornography, and the seller is supposed to make sure you are of age.

Valve can blame anyone else they want. They've got the bully pulpit of their platform, but I'd love to know how they think they weren't breaking the law, and I'd love to know how they'd think that the card companies. Could continue to do business with them if they thought they were breaking the law. They shouldn't have been indiscriminately showing the trailers or selling the games.

The answer to the question is none, because nothing else is regulated. This isn't about agendas or censorship. It's about a company selling something, but not following the rules to do so. You all seem to think you can't use these cards at specialty shops. You absolutely can use them to buy pornography. The games at those shops haven't gone anywhere either.

The moment I started getting flashed on my discovery queue. I knew that this storefront was just cruising for a real bruising. If it weren't the card companies saying they'd have to cut them off. It'd be some government official with some very pointed questions. That'd end up convincing them to do some proactive pruning.

Couldn't tell you. There should be a law behind what the process people used on Steam and the others involved.

Otherwise there should be a lawsuit coming P.D.Q.

Someone will fight it I believe. Whether or not they win will depend on the judge nowadays, If it is a Liberal judge I don't see the fight going well. I can't even see a proper solution coming out of the Supreme Court.

What is on the line is the difference between reality and fantasy. If people can't tell the difference between the 2 they shouldn't be making these decisions in the first place. They probably shouldn't be playing games, either.

Therein lies the problem. There are gamers who can't differentiate between the two as well. They are part of what is causing this problem.

So my bet will be there will be attempts to remove other games as well now that this made it through. It will be on Steam to say they are going too far.

The problem was there was never a line drawn to begin with BECAUSE of the differences between reality and fantasy. Now a line will be forced upon us.

Valve didn't "make their bed", stop pretending like they threw us consumers under the bus. They didn't and you're being facetious in saying that have
Since the gun community is getting a ton of stuff banned or removed. I imagine games like World of Guns.

The drug dealer games.

Then the FPS games.

After that they’ll probably tell Valve to remove the spelling games as ‘incest’ is a word and Mastercard and Visa don’t like incest.

Given that the acceptable use policies haven't significantly changed since before Steam existed, I'd say this is probably correct.

Valve "made their bed" in the sense that they didn't throw away 95% of their income out of some misguided pro-rape-and-incest-in-media move. I'd say they did a pretty good job making that bed by not having the entirety of Steam run out of funding immediately and die, taking everyone's purchases with it.
