Well i gave my story on the other post, literally being banned for nothing. Meaning not one word said on an otherwise dormant account.

That was the most bizarre ban i ever got. And the reaction, just as bizarre.

They responded after a month (just two days ago) that they "misplaced" the ticket, and apologized.

At least i know my account wasn't circumvented though.

OP i personally feel Moderation may going thru a reboot, and maybe changing personnel or something like that atm.

Another one was talking about a matter on a certain game "here" on the Official Discussions, to go to the Hub and find out i was perma banned, for nothing i even said on the Hub.

It was a conversation, here, they didn't like.

The list goes on Op.

Anyway, I once got banned because directed someone to the official support website for a game. Moderators said they banned me for "commercial comment".

Sort of. I made a post talking about specific bans and the like. This is just a general thread for moderation being weird or or ridiculous or outright crap.

Another wave of hijacked accounts are spamming. It is that time of day for it to start up again.

What threads they post in is irrelevant. They are spamming everywhere. They typically just choose the top active threads in each forum because they are at the top of the list.

Hijacked accounts spam limited things in all most recent discussion threads across the steam hubs and even some game hubs. It doesn't target specific discussion subjects. Moderation removes only the problem content not the whole thread.

Not true. On more than a few occasions, I've seen them nuke an entire thread because 2 people wouldn't stop fighting.

In context this was about spam bots. People fighting nonstop usually results in a lock when they have to continually deal with arguments or rule violations that are not limited to a sole cause like a spam bot.

Which they just demonstrated by cleaning the thread of said spam bot spam and leaving the thread.

Oh man this will be a fun thread to read through as I expect many crazy stories given how poorly moderation does their job and how biased they are. As for myself I'll share a few.

I got perma banned from the Halo game hub when the devs made an announcement celebrating black history month. I asked when were they going to celebrate White history and was banned immediately. Amusingly enough with the reason given of "show courtesy and respect." Who knew that asking for equal treatment wasn't considered respectful?

I got banned from the Civ 6 forums for saying that the art style was ugly and the women looked like men. The moderator of that game hub even dug through my posting history and claimed I was a closet misogynist and stated I didn't deserve to be able to post on the forums.

When God of War came to steam there was a thread discussing how Thor looked ridiculous and how making him obese didn't' really fit the character. I made a joke saying that we were lucky he wasn't black and wheelchair bound. I was given a perma ban for that joke.

There's also probably a dozen plus cases of being banned back when the "no politics" rule was in place because that was an easy way for moderation to just get rid of you if you said something they didn't like. Nowadays they just leave the ban reason blank because moderation is mask off and don't need to pretend to be impartial.
