Spam bots
Anyone noticing a rash of spam bots lately?
Had to report one recently for claiming to link to some criminal content but it appears they took longer to remove the links than to community ban the account. Hopefully they understand mandatory reporting laws.

Yeah, the link posters.

Honestly, they should have something for bots to not be able to bypass. I was gonna suggest a "Captcha System" but bots can bypass them, especially with the help of AI now.

There has to be something that can stop bots from doing whatever they want. Maybe a bot created to go against other bots?

Some were advertising stuff that online platforms are supposed to immediately report when made aware of.

I've seen some spam LGBT nonsense on game announcement threads for the purposes of jester farming.

that depends, but in most cases no. Just another failure on the part of moderation

Moderation here only acts on reports.
They are not actively scanning the forums.

You see something you think breaks the rules? Report it.

they dont care majoroty of time, so i quit caring as well.
Valve knows about the rash of hijacked accounts spamming porn and malicious links all over the main forums.

I've reported at least 158 accounts in the past 4 days alone that were doing this on the main forums.

And what are they doing to stop it, mr knows everything Valve related? knowing vs actually doing something are two different things.

They lack security against bots and all those Alt accounts that like spamming/causing drama etc They shouldn't offer "Alts" to anyone. See how fast all that spam/nonsense would stop.

Knowing about a problem and not doing anything to stop/prevent it speaks volumes.

The content analysis is mostly doing its job by not letting the links pass through.

Only a handful of links have the first 2 days and those were also added to the blacklist.

And they aren't alt accounts. They're hijacked accounts.

Sure, the analysis thing is doing its job but that's not eliminating the core problem at hand. Those Bots shouldn't be posting anything to start with.

Bots shouldn't have accounts and people (some Steam users) shouldn't have over 20+ Alts causing drama/problems/issues etc

Let me know when your daddy Valve actually stops the bad children from misbehaving.

You literally can not stop hijacked accounts from posting on the forums proactively before theu post something. You can only go after them retroactively.

This also has nothing to do with alt accounts causing drama on the forums.
