Please stop this payment processing overreach. it is anti consumer, authoritarian and evil censorship. Sure it's for a good reason now but that's how they all started, it sets a precedent. The slippery slope of censorship.... how do we still need to explain this to people?! do you not learn from history?!

Yup, it starts with the banning of books from schools and just escalates from there.

They're not allowed. They merely gave the payment processor executives an idea how to do what they do best and like doing the most: make the lives of the "rabble" miserable. Those executive hate the "Karens" as much as us. But it's not their turn to feel that hate yet.

I would prefer they say no to the payment processors and expose their workings to their customers. Steam is being extorted here, ''if you don't listen to us we pull our resources''. That should be exposed, not facilitated. If it's not outright illegal mafia practices.
Steam can just offer crypto payments and we don't have to deal with the vultures.

Valve wouldn't have enough resources to outlast their opponents during the legal battle. Most of the casuals would switch over to game stores like Epic at the mere hint of the inconvenience of not being able to pay using their credit cards.

It's not illegal, and there is nothing to Valve to expose. And crypto is unregulated scam garbage, Spanky, and all the techbros coming out of the woodwork thinking something like this is going to usher in the golden age of crytoscam are very sadly mistaken. They can head back to mommy's basement and continue to play with their Monopoly money.

It is a litmus test for seeing how effective this strategy can be. If it is, it can be applied in a much more intensive manner to hurt the competition of their owning entities and associated companies.

Women can be far right too and the group responsible for this mess call themselves feminists and - shocker - are women.

That aside, every extremism censors undesireable content. China and the GDR for example do/did a lot of censoreship, so does religion like the Islam does.

It's amusing to me how much people are trying to atribute this stuff to the far right as if the past few decades haven't been entirely in the domain of the likes of Aneeta Sarkeesian and her brainwashed followers. The only resurgence of satanic panic I've seen was some idiots trying to simp for Melonie Mac and she has not made headlines since.
