As someone with over 500 purchases, if enough customers like me grow a pair and stop being passive cowards, he absolutely would be. Because that would be even more of a risk to the perpetual growth than a legal fight with payment providers would be.
"The fundamental cause of the trouble in the modern world today is that the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.”
- Bertrand Russell
The "middle man" is the one being a passive coward instead of taking the blackmailers to court and doing the right thing. But you keep wallowing in your willful ignorance.
“There is a cult of ignorance… and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”
- Isaac Asimov
You're the actual coward here for not going after the real culprits.
I'm not on GOG, but I deleted my itch.io account. How about you? Or is anything less than quitting my day job and dedicating every waking second to this one single cause not good enough for you?
A false dilemma/black-and-white thinking is an informal fallacy based on a premise that erroneously limits what options are available.
Ahhhh the old childish, kindergarten "I'm rubber and you're glue" argument. Why am I not surprised by the complete reliance on whataboutism, projection and/or denialism instead of anything even remotely resembling an argument backed by verifiable facts? It's such an obvious thought-terminating cliché. Would it be so difficult for you to use skepticism to determine what verifiable facts contradict your assertion as well as those that support it so that you could then use logical reasoning to come to a rational, justifiable conclusion. And then you can actually provide good reasoning for your position, instead of just baselessly asserting whatever your “feelz” keep telling you "must" be "common sense" that so very conveniently happens to support your narrative? Or is that too much of a threat to that self sustaining safe space in your own mind? Or is virtue signaling to Gabe too precious to you?
Whoa! A whopping 500 purchases! That's a tiny little blip in a very large ocean. You refusing to buy is not going to be noticed. Neither is any attempt at forming a boycott. They don't work. Sometimes with hilarious results. Anyone remember that Boycott MW2 group?
