All downloads fialing - what is going on?

Canot downalod updates (games like Avorion, Kenshi ,etc..).
Cannot downlaod new game (Space Marine 2).
Content servers cannot be reached.
Content unavaialbe.It's been going on for days.
My internet is fine.

Check your drive space. maybe full the update needs to fully download before it can update. 50G update will fail if only 49G free space.

What OS are you on?

Steam > Settings > Downloads
Clear the download cache.

If you're on Windows 7, this topic may be helpful to you. There you will learn that Valve has decided to use a new compression algorithm (Zstandard) on their content servers. The old versions of the Steam client and SteamCMD do not support this algorithm and hence will become useless for an ever increasing number of games going forward. It seems however that you can use VxKex / VxKex NEXT to add a compatibility layer to Windows 7, allowing it to run programs built for newer versions of Windows and hence allow you to update the Steam client. I haven't looked into this yet so be careful and try it out on a virtual machine first.
