Bring back the Crypto payments
Back in 2017, Steam supported Bitcoin payments - unfortunately the transaction costs went up to tens, and then to hundreds of dollars resulting in failure.

The crypto ecosystem today is different - Ethereum alone has extensions allowing for ~600tps (compared to 7 TPS offered by BTC in 2017), there's also a wide variety independent blockchains each with their own separate capacity.

In the wake of Visa and Mastecard censorship, Valve should consider introducing crypto payments again - as these systems reach far greater maturity and guarantee to work impartially without interfering in Valves business

One article of many on the subject. I am unable to find the origional source.

This has already been suggested in a half a dozen other threads. Gabe Newell himself said that 50% of the transactions for Bitcoin were fraudulent when the currency was on the platform.

I don't really see them taking a chance on another form of crypto and you shouldn't either.

I think payment processors said 10% of all adult purchases were refunded as well. So it is nice that Gabe accepts that loss at least.

Sorry bub, but cryptoscam is cryptoscam and always will be without proper oversight and regulation. So all the techbros coming out of the woodwork can take their Monopoly money and head back to mommy's basement.

Basically every single VPN provider offers crypto payment option. If VPNs can do it, then Steam can do it as well

Even if they do, they still won't be able to sell those types of games without losing access to Visa and Mastercard. VPNs don't exclusively take cryptocoins, do they?

Jesus, I wouldn't use a VPN that exclusively takes crypto, who the ♥♥♥♥ knows what they're doing with my data.
