Would I be best if I just delete my steam account?
It looks like thing are going to get worse on steam and I just want to be safe and not sorry.

So I just want to ask if I should delete my account. I don't want to lose all the game I have bought, but with the way things are going I have a feeling I might be for the best.

Is it a good idea?

Do it like me. Keep your account+games and boycott going forward. Don't give them more money while they are being controlled by Visa/Mastercard.
Only delete your account in the rare case you can't stop yourself buying games on each/next sales.
Good idea, also tell us what would you like to use instead of Steam, something with higher quality I presume?

No, it's fearmongering craziness. "The way things are going"? Really? Just play your damn games.

Oh ok, that should be easy enough. Thanks you!

The only other option I think could work is GOG Galaxy

Your right I shouldn't be scared. Even if things do get worse on Steam, as long as I don't buy any more games I should be fine

The answer to this ridiculous question which somehow get asked semi often around here is no. It is always going to be no.

Deleting your account is going to throw all the money you spent on here thru the window with absolutely no advantage to you whatsoever. And nobody will care either. Not even Valve since they already got your money.

No.

If things get worse on Steam, they will also get worse everywhere else.

So what you really should do is delete all of your gaming accounts.

Your right about that. Would It be better to stop buying games on steam instead?

I think the only other one I have is a Nintendo account I rarely use

Steam is a service. It is a storefront. Would you be asking this question if we were talking about your local Wallmart?

Because the exact same logic apply here just as well.

Oh ok. just to make sure I understand it correctly, it's a yes right?

...

If you go to a physical store and realise that you just got had by paying like 15% extra... Would you be jumping on the item you just bought to burn it to ashes cursing that storefront name?

Is this what you are implying here?

Good. Get rid of that too.

Time to go out and be a more productive member of society. Instead of playing video games, go and pick up another shift at work. That way you can pay more taxes and support your government. There are a few big wars coming up, and it would be good to have some extra cash in the kitty for those wartime budgets.

Not in that way, but deleting the stuff I paid for is just a bad idea in general. I lose all my games and get nothing but disappointment that I deleted my account.
