There's a lot of adult content on Steam
Adult ascii art profiles
Adult pictures on profiles
Adult games

It would be a real shame if Valve had to start doing age checks for games and profile sign ups.

Like CS2 needing age checks, that would be a terrible thing for the online game

I mean, you can report it. The adult stuff on user profiles isn't allowed by the steam rules.

But I agree that there's tons and tons of adult stuff on steam and it'll be really hard/impractical for steam to remove it all.

I don't care that much, except the amount of resold accounts on steam

There's another one that isn't allowed.

But you bring up a good point.

Unhinged bot lol
Well, they are going to have to have age checks for forums since they won't know what people write in them. Or just block the UK for now, which would send a message when the riots start on the streets of London when gamers rage over losing access to Steam.

Why? Are you in favor of children getting flashed? Are you in favor children buying pornography? They haven't policed their store, or enforced community guidelines, because they didn't want to pay. Well everybody else has to police. Why should Steam be special/different. Everyone else has to verify the age, and keep it hidden from public view.

You all are making this harder then it actually has to be. All they need is one more flavor of Steam gift card. One that requires a brick and mortar to verify your age, and once you spend the card on the store nothing will be hidden anymore. That and hire a couple actual human beings to double check an automated system. That is tasked with finding profiles that are against the rules.

Steam has pretty good and functioning tools to prevent "children" from seeing adult games. Anyone with a semblance of IT literacy can use them.
It depends on the game but if you look at steam profiles it's a lot of filth - since the p#rn websites became 40% of internet traffic. That's a society thing though I'm not sure how you'd stop it without running a screenshot through computer vision

By "filth" you mean sexy-looking video game characters who wear clothing more revealing than a Hazmat suit.

Or maybe parents should be responsible and keep track of what their kids are doing on Steam. Even if it means checking their account to see what kind of games they've been playing and what they've been posting in the forums.

As for the gift cards, unless the merchants system flag for an age check, nobody is going to do it. Lord knows how many kids used to buy albums with explicit lyrics because the person ringing them up didn't check for the warning sticker.
I can link a profile that's rude, how do I do it?
