Anyone else miss the Halo 2 / MW2 lobby days?
Kinda random but just feeling nostalgic lately. I’m 35 now, got a kid, and been thinking a lot about those after school Halo 2 / Halo 3 / OG Modern Warfare lobbies. hopping on, vibing, talking ♥♥♥♥, solid progression systems, fun as hell gameplay. It was such a golden era.

Got me wondering, is Halo MCC or Infinite still active online? Like can you actually find games easily or is it a ghost town?

And if not… what’s the closest thing today to that vibe? Not really into Fortnite. Marvel Rivals looks cool but I dunno how social it is.

Would love any thoughts. Just trying to tap back into that feeling again.

Yes, but the fanbase moved on. A lot of online game's ToS ensure that unless you roll with a premade or friends the lobby will be safe and sanitized. No one wants to lose their account because of bantz.

Yeah, I feel like games reached a point where they didn't really need to improve, way back then, but for some unknown reason, they keep trying (and keep failing) to make more impressive games.

They don't seam to understand that people like you or I would pay them full price for a new halo without improved graphics over halo 2, one that just continues the story.

They don't need to keep making games better than the last game. As good would be plenty.

Unknown? How about try your opinion is purely subjective.

Maybe you don't seem to understand what a tiny minority that is. 2004 wasn't the peak of graphics. Developers wanted to do more. Consumers in general wanted more. It's why the PS3 and Xbox360 succeeded, because if anything close to a majority agreed with you, consumers would have rejected new consoles because they weren't necessary.

You've got some rose tinted glasses with an extremely near sighted prescription.

In short, yes they do. You might not agree, but you might not be the target demographic and your demographic might not be the untapped cash cow you imagine.

Maybe you just don't remember games being roasted for being too similar to prequels and being glorified expansions. Maybe you forget what the expectations were in 2004.

It was the best of times.

Now gaming is all politics and hurt feelings.

I know it gets a lot of hate, but would recommend for that old Halo feeling.
