At one point in time you could do that, until they enforced it to only recognize soundtracks from the store.
Nowadays I just use the refurbished XMPlayer to play music files. Has a lot of cool skins.

I agree the new video player is a great improvement. I especially like the peek feature from YouTube.

I'm going to guess it took them quite a long time to get it where it is. People ho complained about how it ran previously and the desire to make it better anyways likely had a lot to do with it.

Now if they can improve steam remote play and broadcasting next, that would be great.

ok, thanks. I have not been on steam for awhile. Was on vacation in a national park for some time. No internet or steam there.
