Alternative payment processor
I saw this mentioned in a video but I don't know if it's a viable alternative. Figured I'd post in case valve wasn't aware of it.

Why wouldn't Valve be aware of alternatives? Useless cryptoscams and unregulated fly-by-nights are just that and no company is going to use some niche payment system because the vast majority of normal, everday, logical reasoning adults across the world will not use such garbage. Take your nonsense to the dark web from whence it came.
Any payment processor that relies on traditional credit card payment methods is going to, at some point along the chain, pass through Visa and Mastercard's pipelines.

You should look into it before you spout your own nonsense.

Parallel Economy is proud to announce its partnership with Flash, a Bitcoin payment gateway. This partnership will allow Parallel Economy customers to add a Bitcoin payment feature simply and seamlessly.

First, Valve would lose the ability to let people use MC/Visa if they let "Rape, incest and CP games" stay on the platform, so your "brilliant idea would not work. It would kill Valve.

Second, Valve has tried and dumped the Bitcoin stuff and said it will not be added to Steam again.

Why is it so important to keep "Rape, incest and CP games" on the platform?
Those who fancy trash like that can go and buy it elsewhere, Steam is a family friendly platform.

Horrible idea, thanks but no thanks

Everyone has been posting "but if you accept (something else) they can keep buying those games!" - NOPE. Like all the threads before this, the content itself being on the store associating with the use of visa/mc means that they are seeing steam as a risk and may drop them if they're breaking the business-to-business agreement.
These threads quite often aren't taking that into consideration, which is why unpopular/hardly used 'alternatives' including crypto will not work.

Sure. Real family friendly. That's why it sells Mortal Kombat and Sniper Elite and all the other games that glorify violence, death, and murder. They are no more or less wholesome than a game featuring any kind of sex. The double-standards you lot have is just astounding.

Mortal combat is probably older that half the users on steam.

And that doesn't make it any more family friendly than a game released tomorrow featuring fictional characters having sex.

No need to attract and accommodate deviants and create a hunting ground for them. Just look at Roblox how wrong it can go.
/Have a great day.

It's family friendly
Parents played it on the mega drive and now their kids are playing it on steam.
