Going to GOG
GOING to GOG, because they don't delete games and you can also download games and play them offline.

They also don't have that many NSFW games though.
no need to announce it, there are no steam or valve employees in this steam related sub-forum reading threads or posts. only users are in this user only sub-forum.
GoG didn't have those games, so there was nothing to delete... People are really taking the whole lenght of CDP's PR...

And even if there were, it's not like Steam would be making you special offers to stay...

Some people just hugely overestimate their importance within the huge customer crowd that Steam has. At least his game count is in the double digits -- I've seen "I'm leaving!" with game counts in the single digits, or even limited accounts...

And yes, I have activated my free GoG games as well. I know I have one of them on Steam (because I've played it); haven't looked at the details of the bundle so I don't know anything about the others.

Ok, so you are going to a store with less games and still have the same potential issues with payment processors. Yeah, that makes complete and total logical sense

Now I am beginning to understand why the rest of the world has such a low opinion of the gaming community and its intelligence quotient.

It's also funny because most if not all of the stuff on GOGs current PR stunt are sold on Steam still.

Devotion enters the chat. Deleted because it had one single line of text that implied something about Xi Jinping

Six Days in Fallujah, SS3 and Hatred tried to enter the chat as well but were denied by GoG right away for being too much of a "Brand risk". Let alone the hundreds of games that got denied for having a slight sexual theme.

GoG is not this amazing great place for gamers that some people think it is.

Hundreds of games have been removed in last 2 weeks with more games at risk of being removed all thanks to Collective Shout.

A religious, feminist group pressured Mastercard into removing these games. This same group wants all adult and violent games removed.

Saying "Oh well they are still here!" isn't the defence you think it is. It's only a matter of time before the entire "Adult" game catalog gets censored along with some violent and horror games.

You might be happy with Horror and Adult games being removed. By your post history it seems you are happy with games being removed. You were against the "Stop Killing Games' Inititive too but most gamers don;'t like censorship by religious zeolots and corporations or losing access to their games.

GOG's statement says they are AT RISK of being removed.

Censorship
is quietly deciding
which games you can buy.

We are fighting back.

Some games vanish. Not because they broke the law but because someone decided they shouldn’t exist.

For 48 hours, these games are free, because if a game is legal, you should be free to buy it.

These games are at risk of disappearing.

We believe that if a game is legal, you should be able to buy it now and decades from now.

We fight back by making these games visible, accessible, and undeniable. Freedom to buy is freedom to create.

GOG is nobody's girlfriend, much like Steam. It's a business. Which uses the same payment processors like Steam, but for now, wasn't targeted because it avoided games with highly controversial content of any kind. But as the goalpost of what counts as highly controversial keeps moving... there'll probably be a lot of people who'll just settle for whatever offline installers they can back up.

Doing something is better then doing nothing

At least GOG came out with their own form of protest against this censorship and gamers get 13 free games out of the deal. Valve could do the same with Steam and try rally people into defending them and contacting mastercard.

They quoted GOG saying that the games are at risk of being removed. Do you understand?

A few hundred games were on Steam last week that are not here anymore and a few hundred more the week before. Each week more games are removed. Do you understand?

:steamfacepalm:
I came from GOG.

Steam not so badda after all.

Nah, GoG is doing a PR stunt.
None of the games that were deleted from Steam were available on GoG, nor GoG took a stance and allowed them on their platform.
