Mark controllers as supported in settings. (D input)
I connected my 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless controller in D-Input mode today because I wanted to use the extra buttons. I'm used to manually setting up D-Input controllers, but I was surprised to see that all buttons, even the extra ones, were already supported!!!! Even the 8BitDo heart Icon was visible instead of the Xbox/Steam Icon!

I’d love to see some kind of icon or checkmark next to the controller icon in the steam input settings to indicate when it’s running in a fully supported level.

Additionally, instead of hiding the controller selection tab when only one controller is connected, it would be helpful to still show that single controller at the top, along with its Steam Input support status even if that is a simple checkmark.

that's interresting
I get an option to enable extra buttons or something in the steam controller software
But each time I press to enable extra buttons, it just disables as soon as I leave the screen
I think I have the same controller
The L4 and R4 buttons on the top right?
You are in Xinput mode thats why. Turn off the controller (dont dock it just hold the home button) and why holding B press the Home button to turn on the controller. You will now be in D input mode and if you go to the steam controller settings and test the device you will see that not only your controller is fully detected with its real name but also you now have access to gyro-paddles-R4L4
