So I think I know why Valve does nothing to address the smurf - smurf cheats - death knell to Dota 2. It fits the observations perfectly to what I am seeing.

Valve knows Smurfs are ruining and killing the game, and though the great purge years ago helped, Valve simply does not KNOW what to do or HOW to solve this problem.

Ergo,they will allow it to continue till a solution is found.

As such, I feel strongly this is what is going on::

1) Valve does not ,match players in unranked games at all. There is no rhyme or reason to the matching system because there is no unranked matching system.

2) Valve could easily devise a system where anyone with under 500 games is matched against likewise players. They choose not to.

3) Instead they match up people with 13,000 games and a player with 0. The player with 0 is either AN ACTUAL new player or a smurf. Approximately 1 in 5 in that situation or lets say under 20 games, is a new player. The other 4 are SMURFS every single time.

4) The Smurfs know all 128 heroes, all 4 spells for each hero, the aghs, and aghs shard for the 128 heroes, the 100s of weapons, and 100s of items, and ALL of their 1000s of interactions. They are cheating and BREAKING the rules Dota 2 has stated continuously,

5 I partially arrived at this conclusion because I have seen some new player threads complaining about smurfs ruining their games and enjoyment of the game - "smurfs give the new players a break" etc..

6 If Valve implemented a matchmaking system based on games played', then all that would be left is smurfs and the occasional soon to be massacred new player, THAT does not bode well for bringing new players to the game THUS .......

7 Valve thinks it better to just throw the cheating smurfs into games with long playing veteran players. Those veteran players will call the smurfs out, then get pounded on reports and go from 11,000 conduct score for 13 years to under 7000 in a few months.

No, I don't want to play ranked. I want to play honest games with other honest players. I want Valve to devise a system to distinguish between cheaters and honest players.

I will not play low P games because I tried to report abysmal behavior - no thanks.
