Why so many friend slots?
Steam says: “Here, take 2,000 friend slots.” And I think: I need three for DayZ—my buddy, the guy who sells me nails, and the scarecrow I talk to when it’s been raining for three days straight.

2k is the max limit. Seems a bit much but some people "gotta catch them all."

Seems a bit high yes, but what would be a good value, because you do need a limit, for data management reasons mainly.
