Should I just stop using launchers that aren't Steam?
Ubisoft feels so terrible, like what games do they REALLY have? I don't care what you say all of the Far Cry games are copy and paste. SOMETIMES Assassin's Creed innovates. Seems pointless to even the launcher. EA is in the same damn boat. Outside of a few actual unique co-op games like Split Fiction etc (Which aren't singleplayer so who even cares) all you have care copy and paste Battlefield Games, boring Apex Legends cause exclusivity, yay! Like, I'm trying to be objective although I guess everything is subjective. There's just nothing THAT good worth playing anymore? If you've played one, you've played em all you get me?

Then you have the Xbox app. What are you even using this for for besides games that force you to have a Microsoft account like Halo? IMO Halo is so good it may be one of the few games worth going out of your way for, but it still sucks. My issue isn't even needing to have the account. It's needing the launcher. Although you don't need the launcher for Halo games, bu you do need to login to your Microsoft account if you launch a Halo game via Steam. Or Gears of War. Honestly, I've had my fill of Halo, so I'm ready to ditch Xbox too. Game Pass is good for some people but a scam in my opinion, because it invites FOMO. This "need" to rush through games to get to the next one.

Then you have Gog. Great! Good if you want drm free games. All the games are available on Steam. So this feels optional.

Epic Games. While I would say this is a great launcher because you get free games, most of the games are actually just shovelware. You will occasionally get good games, but I can afford games. I can justify buying a game. I can't justify using 50 launchers. So what games does Epic offer exclusively? Fortnite? Well, if you've played one Battle royale you've played em all at this point. Game exclusivity sucks. They have Rocket League which they delisted off Steam? Why even support them? Epic Games store has little to no exclusives outside of this other than like Alan Wake 2. So why even use the launcher? For the free games? I have it, but I don't enjoy using it.

Then you have the great beast. Battle net/Blizzard. Arguably the worst launcher of them all even though functionally it's not too bad. Game selection is ALL that really truly matters when it comes to these launchers. You get Wow, the biggest MMO of all time, but the subscription model is dead and it shows. You get hearthstone, pay to win slop. You get Diablo, and you can argue they haven't made a good one since 2. You get Call of Duty because of course you need a Battlenet account to play modern CoD. Blizzard just sucks. You get Overwatch 2, one of the most notorious games of all time. I just feel dirty using this launcher. There are better alternatives for all of these games.

Honestly, I feel like I've covered most of them. There are other launchers, and they all feel BAD except Steam, mostly. You can make bad arguments for Steam, but Steam has virtually everything. The only bad part is that third party drm. As far as I'm concerned games should just boot the moment you press play. No making account bs. Tie it to the account the moment of purchase and cut out the middle man. Yes it's DRM but at least it's simple.

Well, when it comes to EA, Ubisoft and some others, Steam is the third party/middleman.

Yeah but nobody is making any of these launchers their main launcher. Nobody "mains" Ubisoft. Nobody "mains" EA.
Ubisoft? Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, Tom Clancy's games, Trackmania

EA? Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Dead Space, Need for Speed, Star Wars, Crysis, Command & Conquer, Medal of Honor

Not meant to say that these platforms are good, but I mentioned these games in case you want to play something there.

Steam is best, unfortunately, but there's nothing I can do about it.

I know there's more, but I feel like people aren't really installing EA just to go play Crysis 1. Or Ubisoft just to go play Prince of Persia.

You should stop using Steam alltogether.

GoG is the way to go.
No use. They add launchers to games that had no launcher.

I was thinking about negatively reviewing this game because it had a launcher, but I wouldn't be reviewing the game if I did that.

Yeah RuneScape has one. This doesn't really change anything for me because I'm still going to play it either way, but it is the exception to the rule.
For Electronic Arts games for example, I am still using the Origin launcher, because that works without internet. Updating it to their new launcher would be worse, because that won't work without internet after some time.

If you feel people aren't using launchers then why inquire in the first place? You had a similar issue with runescape of needing input from others in order for you to determine if something is worth you investing time in. Furthermore you could have saw people do in fact use other launchers as the other topics have shown.

Nobody?

I have 1st party launchers installed and get games on their respective platform.

Ubisoft Connect, EA Play app, GOG Galaxy, Rockstar Launcher, Battlenet app.

I do not have Epic Game Store installed, nor have an account as i disagree with their anti consumer exclusivity policy.

Would you confine yourself to a single storefront in your entire town?

There is your answer.
