Also, petitions do extremely little in most cases. Not even worth signing.
Time that could have been spent simply signing the petition, even if by itself accomplishes little, when put forward as evidence of people who support a cause when you do other actions it adds weight .
Sign if you want, might not do much other then give weight to people who are more actively pursuing the topic by contacting politicians and other actual difference makers.
And its not Vsa/MCV you really need to petition. But your governments to declare payment processing services a Utility.
All 200,000 signers need to be on the phone with Visa. Call them 4 or more times a day. Every day. This will increase their call centers by over a million more calls a day. You can call them while gaming. It doesn't take effort to issue your complaint and let them read their script back to you.
It would not really change anything who you petition, as it wont change the fact that Visa, Master Card, your Bank etc. can decide them self with who they want to work with,
And if they decide that they do not want to do business with sites which sell porn then no Government can change that (except maybe some dictatures like China, Russia etc. would try that)
Actually If the US declares Visa and MasterCard Common Carriers then they would be unable to discriminate against transactions as long as they are legal. That is all transactions that are legal, both ones that republicans want to make as well as ones democrats want to make. Yes it would be regulations, on an industry, but when two companies control 90% of worldwide purchases it is a duopoly and their draconian ideas of censorship need to go.
