Slow Download/Update
I have a 1GB fiber connection but yet Stem (everything else is fine) is downloading updates to games at barely 100MB. I tested my connection speed and it's pretty close to 1GB, yet steam is slow AF! I am sick of this, Steam has enough money, upgrade your ♥♥♥♥!

Steam defaults to MB. When you say you get 100MB, that's about 80%.

:nkCool:
80% of what...certainly not 1GB?
1Gb... small b for bits. 100MB with a big B is Bytes which equates to 800Mb which is 80% of your 1Gb connection.
Let me clarify 100Mbps or less when I literally have a 1GB connection.
Steam is clearly throttling because they won't upgrade their ♥♥♥♥!

They do not throttle downloads. https://imgur.com/a/V7smxNf

Then explain why updates/patches don't download faster...

You aren't exactly proving your point...only saying that it's ♥♥♥♥ for everyone!

Percentage of global Steam Traffic: 20.4%

PERFORMANCE BY INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER (ISP)
Shown below are the average download rates for Steam clients on the most popular Internet Service Providers for United States, sorted by the number of bytes delivered to that network.

Network Average Download Rate

Spectrum 154.9 Mbps
AT&T Internet 144.1 Mbps
Verizon Fios 166.9 Mbps
Cox Communications 172 Mbps

The average person in the US does not pay for 1gb speeds.

Key point, "average."

But it is fine that you overlooked my own dl speed picture which shows full dl speeds on Steam during the BF6 beta.

Some games simply won't update fast. I'm trying to update Ark Survival and it's abysmal as I'm topping out at 150 KB/s from my throttle of 65 MB/s. It transferred like that for about 10 minutes before maxing out and grabbing the 352.5 MB update. Now I get to sit here for 15 to 20 minutes waiting for it to patch.

I know it's not me or Steam as I routinely max out the connection. Not much I can do about it. I could complain on the forums like all of the others have, but it's been years now and this game has never updated well.

Ok, perhaps I do not understand who hosts the patches. Are the games & patch downloads not hosted by Steam? Because if they are, then yes, it is Steams fault.

I seriously doubt that the "average person", who uses Steam, pays for less than a 300 Mbps connection. Seriously, this isn't 2001...I don't even know if any provider even offers a plan that's less than 100 Mbps.
I think i had the same problem, go to task manager go to details tab ,find steam.exe , right click it, set priority to hight, should work , let me know mate.
But yeah most of internet providers, say that speed is TO 1Gb/s , not exacly 1Gb/s, i have 2Gb/s and with my solution i provided you with, my download speed never reached 200MB/s , like maybe 130-150MB/s :)
