Let people create guides for games they do not own on Steam
This is frustrating as I want to write a guide on how to get Army Men and its sequels to run on modern monitors with multi monitor support but I can't because I dared to own it on GOG rather than Steam.

Then write your guide on GOG. Or your own blog.

Which has barely the reach this platform has.

Not owning the game on this platform means you don't get access to the features this platform offers in relation to said game.

You can't make a guide for a game that the platform cannot verify you own.

Which prevents communities from sharing and keeping games playable and accessible in the current day.

Linking GOG and Steam accounts shouldn't be hard to implement.

Not really. Steam has the largest community base by a country mile. There's nothing preventing games from being accessible in this day and age, nor does that have anything to do with you wanting to make a guide here on Steam.

You can make a Youtube video if you wanted, which is where most people go to get information anyway.
why do you need to read something when there is youtube... and discussion forums....

Then you should have bought it here, if this platform's features and reach are that big a deal to you.

Yes which is where I made my guide but I can't link it to the Army Men video section either due to the same problem.
Make a guide for Steam itself...

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/editguide/?appid=753

Steam's appID is 753.

And make a thread linking the guide in the game hub for said game.

If anyone's the Karen here, it's you demanding to have something you've no right to. Too bad no one cares about your demands, Karen. If you want to write a guide here, buy the game here.

And that's the point - you haven't paid for the game on this platform and thus, are not allowed access to the features that come with that purchase.

Buy the game here, then you can make a guide. There's no point complaining about not having access to Steam features when you haven't even paid for them.

Troll someone else.
The whole point of having specific features is because you actually have the game on Steam so it is odd you chose to ignore your thread title: Let people create guides for games they do not own on Steam and your opening post because you clearly understand why it is not an option.

Not trolling you dude. Steam gives users the ability to make a guide for a game on their platform, so long as said user actually owns the game on their platform.

If you want to make use of this feature, buy the game on this platform. It's that simple.

Steam and GoG aren't going to link accounts and libraries together for these kinds of reasons.

There are other ways to make and share guides that don't require you to own the game here, make use of them.
