So heres the quick and dirty. When downloading from Steam i cap out at 8 MB/s if i re-select the same download location it will max out at 10 MB/s...not entirely strange right? heres the weird thing. IF i run a internet speed tester and run a test on upload speed, my download speed climbs to 21 to 22 MB/s and will stay there until the test is done...so as long as the test is running I hit the correct "max" speed that i would expect from my machine. This seems to only happen with steam. I have checked firewalls on my network and computer and nothing is being blocked. Ive checked window settings to make sure nothing is throttling...along with steam as well. I have also tested this with my laptop with Steam on the same Ethernet port to my switch and on wifi and the laptop will work just fine... Now downloading other things like World of Tanks thats not on Steam seams to do fine as well. It seems to be just Steam....any ideas or recommendations would be great....I really dont want to uninstall Steam and reinstall. but im at that point. P.S i have also checked task manager and No the Nard Drive is not maxing out nor is CPU.
