Granted since it's Chromium based I might generally expect stuff to work in the overlay browser, but whenever it doesn't I'm not surprised.
As far as I know Steam hasn't updated CEF browser (chromium embedded framework) in the last few months, so this might be an issue for Apple. And I don't expect Apple to care. And all Valve can do is update the CEF, and that may not resolve any issues.
Im quite sure that valve usually is 1-1,5/2 years behind the current CEF Versions.
So yes, there might be issues with services which drop support for older cef versions due to security updates and stuff.
At the same time....even if the steam client has basic web browsing features....it is not meant to be used as a webbrowser at all.
