PayPal blocked all Steam purchases form what I've heard. You can no longer use PayPal to make purchases on Steam.

Completely false, paypal blocked some payments from specific currencies. It works perfectly fine for the biggest currencies such as Euro, Canadian Dollar, British Pound Sterling, Japanese Yen, Australian Dollar or United States Dollar

if the OP's currency is not one of those then it might be unavailable until they work out their issues of which there is no ETA yet.

Is this new? I'm not surprised if it is. Given what's going on, Steam will probably require ID to use soon and even then, most games will be taken down.

As other's have said not true. And the issue isn't specifically PayPal, but one of the acquiring banks in the pipeline which is denying all transactions.

Me too. It's not smart to give your ID on the internet but I think they'll do it in the near future considering many others are.

Yes. This is new for "some" countries...

PayPal use on Steam is currently unavailable in my currency. Why?

In early July 2025, PayPal notified Valve that their acquiring bank for payment transactions in certain currencies was immediately terminating the processing of any transactions related to Steam. This affects Steam purchases using PayPal in currencies other than EUR, CAD, GBP, JPY, AUD and USD.

We hope to offer PayPal as an option for these currencies in the future but the timeline is uncertain. We are also evaluating adding additional payment methods on Steam for the customers affected by this.

In the meantime, please use one of our other current payment methods during checkout. If you can't use any of the available options, you can consider using a Steam Wallet code to add funds to your account.
