Usually a few months at minimum

I've seen a lock for "confusion" from within the same month the thread was created.

There is no hard line cutoff. It depends if someone reports it for being old and whether or not the assigned moderator agrees with the report.

I've seen legitimate conversations be nuked by those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ passing themselves off as "valve mods" as old as 2 weeks.
