I'm hoping Fremont's RX 7600 is the entry level model. If you'd buy a better SteamMachine ...let Valve know here.
I currently have a 5800h/6700m 10gb/16gb laptop and am looking to see how SteamOS3 matures a bit for PC before switching as I'm not moving to W11.

I think a RX 7600 8gb is a sidegrade for me.

If there was a RX 9600XT 16gb variant ...even at $800 or so, you'd get my money. Or a similar 10600 when they're out.

...I'd also be up for a Steam gaming laptop for nextgen. I'd spend ~$1250 on a gaming laptop that's good for that gen's multiplats ...that's what I've been doing since 2010 anyways.

My money is waiting for the right hardware.

I hope Steam Machines are as successful as the deck.

A RX 9060M isn't going to be cheap.

On top of this, development for it started years ago when only the 7000 series was available. 9000 mobile units are only starting to release this year.

What M?

They're using a desktop RX 7600. If I'm going to consider their new Steam Machines, I need better hardware than the RX 7600 8gb.

My 6700m 10gb is too close enough to that now to justify any more than just putting SteamOS on my laptop.

...I need at least a desktop RX 9060 XT 16gb or better. The desktop RX 7600 won't cut it.

I'm willing to pay a fair price, but I need be buying hardware that's a real upgrade from what I already have.

...also, there is no 9060m, AMD didn't release RDNA4 for mobile.
