Steams new layout and Valve still pretending

Its a mess...trying to find or locate or search anything now seems more work then it is. trying to find a tag in the tag list with no search bar and its not in alphabetical order, Honestly 100% liked the old lay out, its already annoying that when they have a "themed" sale they change the ENTIRE page layout every time for that sale duration. Searching games by genre have become a huge freaking headache now with the mess of their tags an categories. You got women designing ur ♥♥♥♥ or something??

Finding the tag "horror" was time consuming

have ur dumb ass temp layouts and even ur new one, but get smart Valve, most things give the option to keep the old layout.

and seriously, what is with all the fkin sex games? u guys offer more newly released sex games on ur site then any other game i swear the release list of games this week was fkin sad

are you still pretending to not serve perverts and influence minors with content you have 100% control of to help keep out of the hands of minors?

, Children have access to ur ♥♥♥♥, and not all parents know how to filter this ♥♥♥♥. When I worked for companies back in the 2000's like this, even in vidoe game stores. we had to ID kids just to sell them gems. It was trained into me that it was also the companies job to protect and keep the content out of hands it wasnt meant for.

Valve = Were not perverts and we don't support perverts!

Also Valve = *releases more sex games then any other platform*

You can type out the tag name in the search bar.

they do thing like this on purpose to keep you clicking, that way steam gets more traffic, and they get more money, all money, only money, steam would sell gamers to other platforms if they could

The Steam layout has been a mess for awhile, at least for me (when I’m not on my Steam Deck) I STILL get constant “loading chunk” errors on mobile. So I can agree with you on that.

BUT:

Parents not knowing how to filter out NSFW content is not Valve’s problem, period. Even Nintendo has (or had, during the OG Switch era) quite inappropriate (for minors) games that went uncensored where Sony (PS4) did censor them or refused to release them at all.

I barely play adult games, and click “ignore” on quite a few of them (as I do with many AAA games and PVP/Shooter/Sports games) simply because they aren’t my thing. That’s easy, it doesn’t really bother me in the slightest. I don’t have to be remotely interested in a game for it to have a right to be published on Steam.

But I am sick and tired of the “think of the children” rhetoric to attempt to justify censorship. Mind your own children (if you have any) and stop expecting the internet to babysit children-that isn’t what the internet is for.

So I went to the search box and hit enter which brought up the Store search page, and in the "Narrow by tag" search I typed "horror". That brought up Horror, Psychological Horror, and Survival Horror. I selected "Horror' and the list filtered to every game that was tagged with "Horror". I think it took me all of about 5 seconds.

Even quicker, I hovered over Categories in the blue ribbon and off to the right under Themes was Horror. Clicking on that took me directly to the Horror category page. Took like 2 seconds.

How is this UI such a mess for you? I barely use the Store and found two ways to get to Horror in under a minute.

So you found a new releases section, at least. Tired of the sex games? Go to your Store preferences and turn them back off. They were off by default. So at some point you decided to see sex games.

You guys gotta stop seeing Valve as your industry messiah. They aren't here to be your friends. They aren't going to be your big brother. They do have somewhat of a moral compass for what they consider is good or bad for gamers. But at the end of the day they are interested in one thing: making money. Or do you think Gabe is building a navy of yachts to save the whales with Greenpeace, or something?

Both of these statements are false.

Most of the adult games coming to steam have been out for months to even years and are just being released on steam now. They were always there.

What i hate is when I click on a game category I want to see the proper steam listing for the sales so I can sort them out how I wish... but no I got to hunt for the links that already do that for you. The easy to access ones are the big ones that feature the games they want to push on you.
