Best Proton version for VNs

Anybody know the best Proton for VNs? Most VNs work fine for me, aside from openings never playing.

There's no one-size-fits-all magic proton for VNs.
Try the default. If that doesn't work, check out ProtonDB[www.protondb.com] for tips on how to make it work.

Just use whatever Steam activates by default unless you have some specific reason to force another version.

When doubt, use Proton GE with or without protontricks addons. Cutscenes may not played for some VNs such as Danganronpa V3 even with official Proton versions.
