In short, everyone in the UK now needs to verify their age with a credit card, if they dont they cant access adult games anymore on the store, including the forums of said games.

The sad thing is, they already have the "tolerant" government in power.
The conservatives want even more draconic restrictions including the complete ban of pornographic games in the UK.

So basically, they already voted in the "best" option.

At least you get the option (somewhere). Here in Germany we can not buy adult games since 2022 because Valve has no legit age verification system the German government accepts.
So they just removed all the adult games from the German store.

Its technically against the Steam TOS, yes. Also you would need a payment method ( credit card, PayPal, bank account) that is registered to an adress in the country you want to switch to.
They made store region switching much much harder over the last few years.

Annoying. Hopefully they give me the pop up soon then. If it's just my card details I don't give a ♥♥♥♥. I'm only avoiding ♥♥♥♥ like ID or taking a le epic selfie to go into the insecure third party ai database. At least with that you need more information than just numbers and I trust steam a lot more than the UK government. Which is hilarious to say.

and they do, I've got a card and a date of birth on my account lol. That should (and used to be) more than enough. I've been on this goofy program for 12 years maybe more. Assuming I made an account when I was six I'm 18+

It's really not that big a deal because I don't play porngames on steam but blocking access to a discussion forum on a game where the lewdity is anime girl loses clothes and has underwear is goofy as hell. It's just the concept of it all. These people don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about kids lmao.

And I think I'm fine with my vpn. It doesn't change regional anything, I'm always using pounds etc.
