steamwebhelper error
So Steam was working fine for me on wednesday. I wasn't near my computer for 2 days. Today I logged in, installed a steam update and now everything give me a black screen except the game library.

I read about it. The steamwebhelper doesn't start for me. This is the error when I try to start it manually: steamwebhelper.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point SDL_SetWindowHitTest could not be located in the dynamic link library SDL2.dll.

I tried reinstalling steam, it didn't work. I am using windows 7 sp1. I also tried the beta client. It also didn't work.

I downloaded the file and replaced it. The original file is ~678k, the downloaded is ~1.2M, but when i start steam it replaces it with the old file.

Nobody experienced it?

I found this, that's why I tried the beta client too, but it isn't working: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/groups/SteamClientBeta/announcements/detail/1267046771170054531

I had this exact problem, but I managed to fix it by copying SDL2.dll from Steam main folder (eg. /Program Files (x86)/Steam/) to the same folder where steamwebhelper.exe is (/Steam/bin/cef/cef.win7/ for me).

Then I just double clicked steamwebhelper.exe and Steam browser started working.

This was the only thing that helped (I tried everything else) and I'm surprised no one else apart from us two seems to be experiencing this.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
