Blocked for Fraudulent Activity: Has anyone ever had any success with Steam Support unblocking an account?
I bought a game some time ago with a family members card. I paid the family member in cash and they allowed me to use their card. Some time later they reversed the charge (and others) claiming it was a "hacker". I have no control over this family member.

This was about a year ago. I have no access to this persons card and obviously can never un-reverse the charge. It is not my card or bank or anything. I have contacted Steam Support Offering to pay for the game again, pay a fine, or do some other kind of settlement but of course there has been no response.

Has anyone ever had any success resolving an issue like this? Can an account once blocked for fraudulent activity ever ben unblocked?

Edit:
*****Result*****
TLDR: My account was unlocked.

1 year and 6 months after the original fraud lock date (I checked the alert time stamp and its really been that long), I wrote to steam support THROUGH the account alert pop-up system and got a response.

Mark from steam support worked with me to get my account alert resolved. This was the best possible scenario. I am very happy that this worked out, and even after so long.

Accounts being permanently locked after X days doesnt seem to be an absolute rule.

It goes with out saying I will be sticking with Steam for now.

when and how did you contact steam support?

The time period to unlock your account is over. that was a fraudulent charge (since the other person charged back and called it a fraud), and therefore you can not continue using that account to buy new games/etc. Maybe some exception can be made, but no one here can help you with that: https://steamhost.cn/help_steampowered_com/en/

I contacted steam support about 8 months ago using a support ticket, and then again a few weeks ago by clicking on account alert and clicking the contact steam support button.

Sending steam support tickets obviously doesn't work. Is there a way to call support directly, or escalate, or just pay the money?

no. your account is perma locked.

Only use cards which you have complete and total access to on your new account, should you make one.

I will just go to another platform. This kind of experience obviously doesn't make a user want to keep using the same product. But thanks for the info.

I won't waste my time waiting thinking they will eventually respond.

Reversing it is the only way.

You did a fraudulent charge, it was reversed. This is standard procedure, when a chargeback occurs a company typically never deals with a person again. Steam is nice enough to let you create more accounts as long as you behave.

I think you are being very generous in thinking that companies never deal with someone again after a chargeback. I think most companies would and do. A chargeback is going to happen eventually in any long time customer's history. How you deal with this obviously detemines if you still have a customer afterwards. That is what customer support is for helping with.

Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

"What if I am unable to reverse the chargeback?"

If a chargeback cannot be reversed by working with the financial institution associated with it, please contact Steam support for further assistance.

My current ticket is still open. My older ticket reads "The help request you are trying to view is no longer accessible because it was closed more than 60 days ago.". There doesnt seem to be any record of what happened to it since I don't have a response in my email or my steam.

I will wait this new ticket out. But if it turns out my account is permanently suspended as others have suggested, thats fine. I will still use my steam to play the games I currently have since I still have access, and just use another platform (I dont want to be rude and say which) for my future purchases.

My hope is this ticket will be addressed correctly, since my alert still reads:

"This account will have restricted functionality until this issue is resolved."

Leave the ticket open and wait for them to reply. Do not try to submit another one or close the current one. Wait for them to reply.

You can also add information to your current ticket, if you need to.
