Restore a Permanently Deleted Game?
I downloaded a game that was going free a couple years ago. Played it, it was OK but had some severe limitations - for one you couldn't use a mouse or rebind keys and I as play M/KB it made it pretty hard to complete.

So I decided to permanently delete it. Trouble is it's not really gone. It is pulling down my average game completion score. I figured I'd buy it and work to get all the achievements but Steam thinks I already own the game so I cannot.

Is there a way to restore a permanently deleted game to my library, or buy it again?

You can restore the game the same way you deleted it. Find the game under 'support', chose 'why is the game not in my library' and ask support to restore it.

there is no "asking" in there.

that is a self-serving function. the user can delete and restore it themselves. the "permanently" is a bit bogus, but that function mainly exists to deal with the ocd children that can't stand reading some titles in their library.

Sorry, I haven't used the function myself yet. Even better that way.

I've been on steam for 10 years, neither I knew how to delete a game permanently nor how to restore it.First, I learned the first one and deleted many games (after a while I mourned them). Then I learned how to restore them.

And all of it, my 12 year old brother taught me, lol.

But I still have just one game that's deleted = CS GO.

Was it deleted by support or through the self delete tool?

If it was by support, then it is gone for good. If it was with the self delete tool, then you can restore it on your own.

Because people will remove games then forget and accuse Valve of removing them. Secondly the licence for the game is permanently tied to your account.

There were people making demand wanting games to be removed from account, that include paid, and free to play games.

Either they:
- Don't want to see it in their library.
- Don't want to see it, or others to see they owning it.
- Simply just want to clear things from their account they don't like, or want.

Not much really but mainly they just want it removed from account, the reason why Valve/Steam won't actually "Permanently Delete" is because either you have change of mind later, with regret, or another case became a victim of a phishing attack where hijacker try to delete everything off your account, so it makes sense to make an advance hiding feature, but not actually really deleting the game from account, of couse this actually fight agasint people that want to make an excuse to try and sue because "so and so happen on their account" and want games back, this basically remove that drama since it's easy to restore said game.

There is a way to restore a deleted game (using support). Go to Steam support. Select 'Games, Software etc' in the list. Type the name of the game you wish to restore (I suggest copying the full name text from the games steam page or it might not recognise the name). It will list more suggestions. Select 'The game isnt in my Library' or similar... voila, the game is restored.

But what if... We can't remember which game(s) we previously deleted? is there a list of removed games on the support page?
