Is there way to speed up Steam's validation/verify game files?
I like to remove my downloaded mods after a while I end up with to many I do not want. After removing mod folders I go Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity. This works nicely. But it takes so very long. Around about 5hours. Is there anything I can do to speed this up?

It's so slow....using 33% disk, 6% CPU, 10% memory and 1% GPU right now...it could go faster if it wasn't ♥♥♥♥ software

Also, I try to connect to a Dayz server, 1 mod is out of date (server has newer version); download the mod update. Get "can't compile error" nothing fixes it so have to validate and it's checking 318.4GB of data now. There's no way they can code this better? Come on, have it maybe check the files that were modified recently first? Maybe don't have such a ♥♥♥♥ compiler

I got no solution, but I feel you because it happens to me too

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
