Trying to put the Minecraft Launcher in Steam and I need help
I am trying to set up my computer where I don't have to leave Steam to open apps using the "Big Picture Mode" because I want to make my PC remind me of a game console because mine got broken and I can't afford a new one. I got all of my games and apps into Steam except for one; my Minecraft Launcher. I originally got it on the Microsoft Store but figured out that I can't put Microsoft Store apps on Steam without that UWP Hook thing. I tried that thing and it didn't even work. It said to restart Steam so I did, I went back to my library, and it wasn't there. Then I figured out you can get it off of minecraft.net so I uninstalled the Microsoft Store version and downloaded and installed Minecraft.exe. I got back on Steam and clicked "Add Game" then "Add Non-Steam Game" and I didn't see it, so I tried clicking "Browse" and I didn't see it under quick access. Do I have to go to a certain location to find Minecraft.exe or what? If so, what is that location?

Steam>Settings>Library>Add a Non-Steam Game

Steam will scan your computer for .exe, search Minecraft, add 'minecraft launcher'. You then have to search for Minecraft in your Library after because Steam considers it a game that's never been played so will be in the unplayed grouping alphabetically.

Should be noted you have to actually launch the minecraft download for the launcher itself to actually be installed on your PC.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
