Can I change my Workshop download destination?
I need my mods to install on my secondary drive. Not enough space on my SSD. Can I do this? It works if I download mods off the web - games run on the SSD with mods running simultaniously on my secondary drive.

They'll install on the same disk as the game the mods are for.

You could use symbolic links though.
Hey, I used a symbolic link but My main drive is still losing space based on the addons I download and gains more space when I delete them. Is this typical of the technique? because everything is running normal but my drive claims to be losing space.

i moved everything in workshop/content/<gameid> to a folder on my C drive called "workshop" and did this

mklink /d "J:\Games\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\107410" "C:\Games\Workshop"

works for one game

i cannot believe that in 2020 we have to use that ""symbolic link"" option in order to do something as basic as moving a folder and its hierarchy to other disk, whoever coded the workshop portion of steam should be dramatically salary reduced....

Symbolic links would be used anyway even if the process was automated by valve.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
