Refund Delayed Due to Security, Need Help Before Sale Ends
Hi,
I recently made some security changes to my Steam account (e.g., password reset or email update), and now my refund request has been delayed with a message saying, "Your refund request has been delayed due to recent changes in account security."

The game I want to refund was purchased during the sale, and I would like the refund to be processed before the sale ends so I can repurchase the correct game at the discounted price. I’ve already submitted a support ticket but haven’t received a response yet.

Has anyone faced a similar issue and found a solution? Is there any way to speed up the support response time?

No. The entire purpose of a security feature is to prevent exactly what you're trying to do. By design, there's no way to speed that up

I understand your point, and you're probably right that the security delay is necessary. However, I’m just trying to explore all options to avoid missing the sale. Thank you for sharing your perspective!

Steam support supposedly takes tickets in the order they're received. So don't make new ones trying to get help faster. It might have the opposite effect. It's just going to come down to luck now.

You dont get a response because all tickets you send will only show up for Support after 72 hours.
Thats part of the security measurement for changing/resetting your password or similar.
So your ticket wont even enter the Support queue before 72 hours are past.

So yes, you 100% WILL miss the refund window for the sale and the discounted sale price.
Sorry but nothing you can do.

Hello,
If your refund request is delayed due to security reasons and you think you'll miss the discounted price, I recommend contacting Steam Support. My request was also delayed because of security, but after reaching out to Support, my issue was resolved.

Support can be quite busy, but if you're patient and explain the situation clearly, they’ll find a solution in a short time.

Ok wait what exactly did you say to them to resolve this security causing refund delay? im having the exact same issue and want my refund before sale ends tomorrow help!

I contacted Steam support explaining that I needed a refund because there were 10 hours left before a sale ended and I needed the money to buy another game. They refunded my money within 2 hours because I clearly explained the issue. If you clearly describe your problem, they will respond and help you.

oh ok Guys i am also currently experiencing the same issue and i will first wait for 72 hrs as someone said above that much time is required and after that i will try to contact steam support
