You open Steam, doubleclick on the game you want to download in your library view and it's done. Same as in Windows Steam.

Then it is. Go play on Windows or tool around with Wine.

Only a couple of your games will work. Examples are TF2 and MW3. The rest are going to be windows versions that won't work on Linux.

Stick with Windows if you want to play games. It will be easier for you.

You can install whatever you want. If a game isn't available for Linux, it isn't available for linux. No driver can change that.

This topic had kinda spoiled in last 6 years, since official release of Proton compat layer...
And actually, now Linux is better for titles which are good (which do not use kernel level anticheats which are spyware)
