Where is the setting for bluetooth in steam?
I usually use usb to play steam with my controller but my new controller ues thunderbolt and sadly I can't buy a long enough thunderbolt controller for my new controller so I decided to use bluetooth.

I have the controller connected to my pc, but steam doesn't pick up the controller unless it's plugged in why? Is there some setting I'm supposed to enable in steam to use bluetooth?

I find it crazy that steam makes so much money but can't get bluetooth to work on steam. I just can't understand why inputs don't work unless it's connected via a cord.

Or even crazier is the fact this isn't a steam issue as much as it is an issue with your pc.

Not really, the controller works outside of steam, just not in steam.
Could try something like DS4-Windows[ds4-windows.com], see if it's an issue with Xinput. It's been a while since I last paid attention, but Steam has historically not played well with non-Xinput controllers (Playstation/DualShock being most common)

I was looking into that and I may need to do that. I just find it strange how it works perfectly fine with it being connected via wire and just has issues when it's wireless.
I have several controllers, . All I've ever done is paired them with the PC's BT. Steam sees them connected from the system. The only time I've ever had to ♥♥♥♥ around with getting one connected was one of the Dualshocks and if I remember correctly it was BT driver issue with Windows so long ago I don't even recall how I fixed it.
