iRacing Refund Issue
Is there any other way to contact Steam Support? I feel like they only reply with generic replies when I'm asking for an explanation.

So I renewed my iRacing subscription via Steam by mistake (around 60USD). Apparently if I bought iRacing before outside of Steam(direct from iRacing), the Steam renewal will not be able to renew my iRacing account. I was under the impression that I used Steam to create an iRacing account before because Steam detects my iRacing account when I was buying.

But as I tried to log in on iRacing, my account would not push through. That's when I realized that I hadn't created my iRacing account via Steam, only after the fact.

iRacing themselves stated in their FAQ, that if this mistake happens, I should request a refund from Steam.

So I tried once and was denied. So I tried again asking for an explanation, they replied the same generic denied message. So I'm trying for the 3rd time again, under the "The game does not start" ticket, hoping for an explanation.

As per my research, I read somewhere that Steam will not refund a subscription if it has been used for any duration of time? I assume this is why I'm being auto denied? But the 1 minute recorded game time I have in Steam is me trying to log into the game, and failing.

It's another story if I made a mistake of purchasing the game, and I can play it, and decided I didnt like it. If that was the case I would understand the no refund. But I literally can't even use my account and play the game and they are refusing the refund. I find it unfair. It's like I just gave them 60USD for nothing.

Any help appreciated!

Refund requests are dealt with automatically, the rules around subs are you have 48 hours to cancel and any use counts, so yes it will be the 1 minute that caused the system to reject it.

Usually it's suggested you use the 'I have a question about this game' option to raise a manual ticket that will be looked at by a human being who can then decide on the refund. So long as the 'game won't start' option raised a manual ticket it should be ok, but raising a manual ticket doesn't guarantee a refund.

Renewable Subscriptions

For some content and services, Steam offers periodic (e.g. monthly, yearly) access that you pay for on a recurring basis. If a renewable subscription has not been used during the current billing cycle, you may request a refund within 48 hours of the initial purchase or within 48 hours of any automatic renewal. Content is considered used if any games within the subscription have been played during the current billing cycle or if any benefits or discounts included with the subscription have been used, consumed, modified or transferred.

Please note that you can cancel an active subscription at any time by going to your account details. Once cancelled, your subscription will no longer automatically renew but you will retain access to the content and benefits of the subscription through the end of your current billing cycle.
