during attempts to troubleshoot my microphone not working inside of rust, i followed a couple of guides which said to make sure that steam had access to my microphone by following

settings > privacy and security > microphone (windows 11)

i then checked the recent requests section and see the steam logo followed by the name of a game in my library. every time steam requested microphone input, it occurred under that name. i uninstalled the game and nothing changed, i then uninstalled and reinstalled steam and still it appears as that random game. is there a solution to this other than reinstall windows?
