Steam Input - "Joystick Mouse" erratic
I'm currently using Steam Input w/ an Xbox Elite Series 2 for FiveM/GTAV. I have my right stick set to "Joystick Mouse". It will ONLY work if I'm in "Fullscreen Exclusive" - which isn't great because the game minimizes every time I click out to Discord or other apps.

If I try to run in Window, Fullscreen, Window Borderless, the "joystick mouse" goes crazy all over the screen - there's no control to it. It seems like it tries to pop to the 0,0 top left corner with every movement. I've seen others saying they have the same problem, but I've never found a solution.

Here's a video showing the issue - https://youtu.be/uW400Z6VqjA

I've been battling this for months trying to find a solution - HELP!! :)

Weekend eyes bump
For me Joystick Mouse worked fine with all the screen types but our starting points aren't so close...

I have the game on EGS. I get Steam Input support by adding the EG launcher as a non-Steam game, use Steam to start EG launcher, then start GTAV from EG.
The menu options in the EG build are different:
Graphics -> Screen Type = Fullscreen / Windowed / Windowed Borderless

Are the other Screen Type options a FiveM/mod thing or are they part of the vanilla Steam build?

Have you tested Joystick Mouse+windowed behaviour in another game?
Check the setting in the game this happens with. You may have to manually add dead zones to that particular game. Alot of developers have tools on their websites to do this also. For example, Logitech mouses have a G software that lets you configure your mouse with profiles for certain games. Also, test with other games and make sure it is not happening with all of them. That could be your mouse might be damaged and may need to be replaced.

Got my hopes up there lol I just tried launching FiveM via Steam as a non-steam game, but using the controller config and unfortunately I had the same results.

In the Steam version of GTAV (and maybe all GTAV ??) the Window Borderless and the Fullscreen (Exclusive) only show up when you select their counterparts:

Like if you're in Fullscreen, then the next time you go in you'll see Fullscreen (Exclusive) - and in Windowed you'll then see Windowed Borderless the next time you go into the menu.

I have not tested it out in any other game. GTAV on FiveM is pretty much all I play - BUT - you're right, that is the next logical step so I'll have to try something out.
Well, I just tried it in Lockdown Protocol and everything worked fine. I guess that leaves me with it's either something in FiveM or GTAV (or something in my configuration).

It's frustrating because the "Joystick Mouse" works perfectly when I'm any of the GTAV menus (pause or radial) - and it works fine in the character select screen.

It only goes bonkers when I'm trying to control in-game stuff (looking around basically).
