Help me pls
Hello everyone, could you please help me? When I download games on Steam, my hard drive barely runs — most of the time, it seems like it's not working at all. I hope someone can explain and help me. Thank you very much!

It could be anything causing it, how old is the hard-drive? Have you had any issues with it before? What do you mean by 'most of the time'? Are you saying it runs OK some times? Have you had any other hardware issues?

Some things to consider that might help you narrow down the cause of it.
Hmm, about 4 days ago I could still download games normally. But today, after CS2 had a Steam Cloud error, I deleted the game. When I tried to redownload it, it didn’t work. I then reinstalled Steam and tried downloading the game again, but it still didn’t work.

My hard drive's health is still at 96%. While downloading, the drive often stays inactive for 1–2 minutes before suddenly jumping to 1%, then drops back down again. Occasionally it goes up to 36% for a moment, then drops back to 0%.

Not being able to download the game again sounds like a network issue. You could try running Check Disk to see if the hard-drive needs repairing.

That doesn't explain why the game won't download again though, unless your hard-drive has errors/bad sectors, if that was the case, the new installation of Steam wouldn't have worked. Another possible underlying issue with the drive.

I’ve tried downloading on all the hard drives I have, and they all show the same behavior.
It's not that it can't download — it's just that the average speed is only around 2MB/s.

That's more a network problem, you would need to contact your ISP and see if anything is happening in your area which could slow the speed down, I recently had repair work being done outside and my speed dropped, I was aware of it so it wasn't an issue.

Maybe ask them to test your connection and make sure it's still working as it should.
thank broo so much
