Installing or simply just updating a game is basically impossible due to a corrupt download error
What usually happens is a game gets to like 93% of the installation process and after that there is basically zero disk usage and the game just keeps looping no matter how fast my download speed is until it hits me with a "corrupt download" error.
Things i have tried that don't work:
-Restarting Steam
-Reinstalling Steam
-Clearing my download cache
-Changing download regions
-Booting Windows into safe mode with networking

How are your security programs set up? Could be an anti-virus interfering, for example.

Don't have anything apart from Windows Defender and i guess i'll try to turn that off for a moment to see if that's causing the issues.
This is what i do and have zero issues with updates.

Multiply the largest game install size on a drive by 3.

100gb game install, 300gb free space available.

In this case i'm trying to reinstall arma reforger on a brand new 2TB NVMe that's empty apart from the actual game files that are install looping currently.

Odd one.

If possible can you install Arma Reforger on another drive then use the move function to transfer the install to your new 2TB NVME and see if that works.

Gonna try to do that on my older 1TB NVMe right now, will update if it starts install looping again just like on the new drive.

Update: Unfortunately the same thing keeps happening: The installation reaches 93% and the disk usage plummets, eventually reaching 0 bytes per second and effectively stopping the installation even if i tried this on a different drive.

Do you have a local friend who has Arma Reforger and it is updated?

If the answer is yes copy their game folder to an external drive and then copy paste it on to your drive overwriting any existing files.

Unfortunately no, but i do have my brother's laptop which can in theory work as long as it doesn't have the same issue.

Fingers crossed it works.

Since you're only running Windows Defender, have you tried running steam as an administrator?

Yep, it still doesn't work unfortunately.
In addition to extra space for decoding compressed files, Steam needs scratch space to process updates. Unfortunately, it may choose a drive other than where the game is installed for this purpose. See if all your other drives in your system, including the one for your OS, has sufficient free space as per criteria outlined by Nx Machina. Others have found a workaround that may help; see:
