Steam Overlay Freeze and Black Screen
Hi everyone, while playing games for about 2 days, when I open the overlay with shift+tab, the whole computer freezes and after 20-30 seconds the black screen appears. It occurs in all games. The only solution is to restart it by pressing the case button, no key combination works and does not respond.

"I don't use Steam in beta version, I use it in normal version. I uninstalled my graphics driver with DDU and installed the latest version but the problem persists."

Specs:
RTX 4070 Super
AMD Ryzen 5 7500F
32RAM
Windows 11 24H2
Graphic Driver: 576.52

And some threads opened on Steam about this error in recent days:

yea bro it happens to me and wont get fixed until I reboot my pc from case. I mean what are we even supposed to do
Same here. Happened twice with me, I notice that both times system crashed exactly when I opened someones profile, I guess this issue connected with steam browser somehow, makes me sick really

You're telling the exact same thing that is happening to me, whenever I try to open someones profile or try to open screenshots it just crashes out

Go to Steam > Settings > Interface

Then disable “GPU accelerated rendering in web views"
Exactly the same problem, 1-in-1 computer configuration as yours, December driver 566.36 does not fix anything, it seems that the problem is in the steam client itself.

I had the same problem multiple times. I may have found a fix. At least i tried to reproduce the problem again but I couldn't also limited testing in cs2.

I went to Steam Settings -> Interface -> DISABLED "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views (requires restart)" AND "Enable smooth scrolling in web views (requires restart)"
Turn off all overlays. Then turn them on one at a time while testing steam with each turn on of each overlay. One of them might be causing the issue. This will be the only way to find out which one is causing it.

Tried it, doesn't work for me, even when all overlays turned off, and applications like Discord disabled, the problem still occurs(at least for me)
Thank god that's not only me who have this problem lol
