Deleting a free DLC that came with a game purchase
Hi everyone!

I have the game OMSI 2 on my Steam account. As I recently found out, when you purchase this game, a free DLC is automatically added to your account along with it (AI-Articulated Bus for Vienna). This DLC even has its own store page on Steam.

The problem is that this DLC is completely useless and unnecessary for the game itself. On top of that, it just annoys me by sitting in my library. So, I thought it would be a good idea to remove it from my account. However, when I try to do that, Steam only offers the option to refund the entire game.

So my question is: is there any other way to remove this free DLC without affecting the main game? :steamhappy:

Nope. You should still be able to disable it in the DLC settings, though -- I've never tried not-using a DLC that I own, but if the checkboxes have any use at all then they should allow you to enable/disable each DLC individually...

Yes, I can simply not use this free DLC, but I just don’t like that it clutters my list of DLCs, especially since it’s free and I can always restore it if I want.

And yes, I’ve decided to contact Steam Support after all - let’s see what they say about my request to remove this free DLC from my account.

Why don't you just disable it in your library as suggested? That way it doesn't get installed and wont impact your experience. There is no need to try and have it removed entirely from your account.

I can do that. I just don’t like seeing this DLC on my account - that’s the only reason I want to remove it. :steambored:

I tried that method, but unfortunately, Steam also wants to remove the main game from my account, which I don’t want to do.

Simply put, it doesn’t allow me to remove just this specific DLC.

Just to summarize this thread.

I ended up contacting Steam Support regarding this issue, but unfortunately, they have a negative response. Here's what they said: "Unfortunately, it's not possible to remove just this DLC from the package - even on our end."

So it seems there's no way to remove this free DLC from the account without also removing the main game. :steambored:
