gift card from non-steam user in other country
i recently reconnected with my birth mom, (long story, childhood blech,), and she wishes to gift us a game. however, she isnt comfortable getting a steam account, (and im not comfy giving her my adress), but we do know we live in seperate countries. will she be able to give gift cards digitally without an account? if not, how else would we go about doing it?

And proceeding to checkout without an account. The gift card will be sent as a gift immediately but since they will do it without an account, it will take at least 3 days to process after you try to accept it on your end.

It would probably be better that she gifts you a VISA gift card through Amazon or something and the card code can be used to add funds to your wallet.

Gift cards can be redeemed in other countries, but will be converted to local currency.

Only ones sent through Steam convert.

Retail cards are currency locked.

Are retail cards even sold outside the US, where OP resides? I don't know of any other carriers besides Best Buy, GameStop and Walmart.

Retail cards are available outside the US, yes. Bit a lot of stores pulled them from sale so, it might be hard to find them.

This is why I suggested a VISA gift card because those can be purchased at online retailers in other currencies.
